The Apply Texas application is a common application form for most Texas public universities. It allows students to input their information for several different colleges at once. Apply Texas has announced NEW essay topics for students.
ApplyTexas announces New College Essay Topics
Like the Common Application, ApplyTexas is changing its college essay topics for the 2013-14 application season. This means that students in the class of 2014 will be writing the new essays instead of the ones that had been used for several past years.
ApplyTexas college essay prompts are:
- Essay A: Describe a setting in which you have collaborated or interacted with people whose experiences and/or beliefs differ from yours. Address your initial feelings, and how those feelings were or were not changed by this experience.
- Essay B: Describe a circumstance, obstacle or conflict in your life, and the skills and resources you used to resolve it. Did it change you? If so, how?
- Essay C: Considering your lifetime goals, discuss how your current and future academic and extra-curricular activities might help you achieve your goals.

While the Apply Texas application doesn’t “open” until August, you can preview the application online here. Students can start submitting applications to colleges in August, but they shouldn’t wait until then to start on the college essays. In fact, the best time for most students to write their college essays is the summer between junior and senior year of high school.
Brand College Consulting offers the college essay preparation and editing service in its package for juniors and seniors. It’s also offered to students enrolled in the Summer College Prep Camps. Families who don’t wish to use either of these services can chose to purchase the essay assistance service separately as well.
