Texas A&M Changes Admissions for Class of 2017

Students in the Class of 2017 have dealt with many changes in the past year: FAFSA, a new SAT, a possible Coalition application, and now A&M is changing its admissions for Engineering students. Texas A&M University is introducing an Early Action deadline of October 15 for students wishing to major in Engineering fields. Our experience with Jolyn Brand was exceptional. She was very responsive to us and offered valuable guidance throughout the college preparation and application process. My daughter got in to all of the schools in which she applied, even her stretch school. We credit Jolyn with helping us to make sure her resume, application and essays were top notch.

Brand College Consulting was GREAT for our son! We met Ms. Brand when my son was in 7th grade! We saw her for an hour consult yearly to help him select his classes, plus a little algebra tutoring in high school. He was ahead of others course-wise and we were able to get 21 hours dual credit in high school, he made the Dean's List, Phi Theta Kappa, and Natl Society of High School Scholars. We are a family of Texas State Bobcats and it's very competitive now to get in but he did and we are thrilled! I recommend Ms. Brand and her services! My youngest daughter attended tutorial services with Ms. Brand. Due to the exemplary, SAT preparation services, my daughter was accepted into several top colleges including the University of Houston, Texas State, Lamar University, and Sam Houston. As a college student, she received scholarships and has been on the Dean's list every semester. Ms. Brand instilled confidence in my daughter. I will be forever grateful.

My daughter attends high school in Clear Lake (CCISD) and is a very bright student. She became a teenage mom during her senior year and lost all hope of going to college. She was a great mom but to encourage her to pursue her college options, the counselor recommended we contact Brand College Consulting. Jolyn met with us and agreed to take us on pro bono, she worked with us for free! And since she was a teenage mom too, my daughter trusted her and her advice.

Over the school year, Jolyn encouraged her to apply to state and private colleges and walked us through the financial aid and scholarship requirements. My daughter thought she would have to attend a community college and work part-time, because couldn't afford full time tuition, plus daycare. They worked online and through Skype which was very convenient.

My daughter was accepted to several colleges, but one of them granted her a full ride. We just found out that she also got a scholarship that will cover her books and the daycare for her son. My girl is going to college! And I can't thank Jolyn enough!
