Beginning in 2018, ACT will begin offering students a chance to take the ACT over the summer, starting July 2018. This new test date will increase the number of test dates from six to seven dates each year. To accommodate the new summer testing date, the test will be offered at local community colleges annd university campuses, instead of high schools that traditionally offer the tests during the school year.
“Students, educators and colleges have told us they would like to see an extra test date prior to early admission and application deadlines, and we have listened,” said ACT Chief Commercial Officer Suzana Delanghe. “This additional test date will allow students to focus on their coursework while they are in school and prepare for the ACT test during the summer.”
This test date would be useful for students in the class of 2019 who would like to take a late test right before senior year and to students in the class of 2020 who would like to prep and start early the summer before their junior year.
