Every year, Brand College Consulting works with students and families in need, in an effort to help them through the college search and application process.
Jolyn Brand volunteers with the YWCA Houston to offer free college planning services to girls and young women in need. She also offers assists the young women in residence, who either aged out of the foster care system or were homeless before the YWCA assisted them. With support and encouragement in the right direction, these young women enroll in college, find employment, and learn life skills. As Vice- President of the Board for the YWCA Houston, she works year-round to help organize fundraisers, plan STEM camps, and assist the organization with the community.
Students on free/reduced lunch are eligible for reduced or fee attendance at our College Prep Camps over the summer, to get assistance with their college applications or essays.
As a former teen mom herself, Jolyn understand the difficulties in continuing education while raising a family. To assist, Brand College Consulting offers free college consulting services to teenagers who are preg
nant or parenting. In addition to helping these students find a successful path, Jolyn hopes to serve as an encouraging role model in their lives.
