College Acceptances for Clients- Class of 2017

May 2, 2017 By Jolyn Brand

Yay! All of our college admissions decisions are in and all of our clients have selected their college for next school year. We assisted 27 current seniors, class of 2017, through the college admissions process, including 4 who were pro bono clients, mostly teenage moms.

They received a total of 96 college acceptances, for a group of 23 students, that’s an average of 4.2 each. Clients ranged from two college applications to 12! Some great stand-outs include:

  • Two admits to Colorado School of Mines
  • One student accepted at Rice University, another was sadly waitlisted
  • One admit to Duke University, Pepperdine, UC- Berkeley, and UNC- Chapel Hill
  • Two were accepted to UCLA and UIUC

The majority of college acceptances are clustered in a few select, nearby colleges:

  • 10 clients were offered admissions to University of Texas, with 2 of these being offered the CAP program. Two students were admitted direct into highly competitive McCombs Business School and another into Liberal Arts Honors program.
  • 9 were offered admissions to Texas A&M, with 2 for PSA program
  • 8 students were accepted to University of Houston
  • 4 were offered admissions to UT Dallas, with two large scholarships!
  • 5 were admitted to University of Alabama, ALL earning large merit scholarships!

There were also very fantastic scholarship awards, including:

  • Case Western offered $25,500/ year scholarship packagescholarship money
  • University of Al
  • One deserving young man got $30,000/ year from Tulane University
  • George Washington University offered a $25,000 scholarship
  • University of Colorado-Boulder also offered $25,000/year to one strong student!
  • Total scholarship awards for the 23 clients was $1,174,000. More than a MILLION dollars!

Our experience with Jolyn Brand was exceptional. She was very responsive to us and offered valuable guidance throughout the college preparation and application process. My daughter got in to all of the schools in which she applied, even her stretch school. We credit Jolyn with helping us to make sure her resume, application and essays were top notch.

Brand College Consulting was GREAT for our son! We met Ms. Brand when my son was in 7th grade! We saw her for an hour consult yearly to help him select his classes, plus a little algebra tutoring in high school. He was ahead of others course-wise and we were able to get 21 hours dual credit in high school, he made the Dean's List, Phi Theta Kappa, and Natl Society of High School Scholars. We are a family of Texas State Bobcats and it's very competitive now to get in but he did and we are thrilled! I recommend Ms. Brand and her services! My youngest daughter attended tutorial services with Ms. Brand. Due to the exemplary, SAT preparation services, my daughter was accepted into several top colleges including the University of Houston, Texas State, Lamar University, and Sam Houston. As a college student, she received scholarships and has been on the Dean's list every semester. Ms. Brand instilled confidence in my daughter. I will be forever grateful.

Client Testimonials

avatarJolyn has been my college consultant for around two years now, and I have been completely satisfied with her assistance. Any time I needed an answer regarding college admissions, credentials, or really anything at all, she would do her best to provide me with an accurate and helpful answer. Jolyn stands out to me because of her reliability and her effort, as she has made my admission process a breeze, and has managed to nudge me into the door of some of my dream colleges.

Note: Steven was awarded a FULL scholarship to a large national university! Congratulations Steven!
