Open houses, like campus tours, provide students with a unique opportunity to get information so they can decide whether or not to apply to the school. A college open house is an event where visitors are allowed access to a campus in order to learn more about it.
During open houses, you can expect to see a number of important and knowledgeable people associated with a college. Deans, professors, coaches, admissions counselors, safety officers, and the student body president may be likely to attend an open house.
Here are the Open House Days at Texas universities for Fall 2021:
Saturday, October 9- UT Arlington
Each Maverick Experience begins at 8 a.m. and ends at approximately 3 p.m. The event includes sessions on admission, financial aid and scholarships, academic colleges and schools, and more. You’ll have the opportunity to take a campus tour and check out UTA’s residence halls and apartments. Lunch is provided by UTA for you and your guests.
Saturday, October 23- University of North Texas
This open-house showcases the whole spectrum of campus, including Academic Departments, Admissions, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Housing, Student Activities and the Denton Community. Join us and discover what UNT can do for you!

Saturday, October 9- UT San Antonio
Oct 4 and Nov 1 (virtual days)- SMU
Mustang Days give you a 360° view of SMU in a more formal group setting. Get the inside track on admission, scholarships, financial aid, and campus life. Throw your toughest questions at our student panel, and let our deans and professors tell you everything you want to know about our academic programs. Maybe even bring a friend or two! Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. (an optional early bird tour departs at 7:45 a.m.) and the program concludes at 3:00 p.m. Parents are welcome.
Saturday, November 13- Stephen F Austin University
SFA Showcase Saturday- There’s a reason we don’t call it an “open house.” Showcase Saturday isn’t your typical college visit. Sure, you’ll get to see the SFA campus and take a tour of our residence halls.
Monday, Oct 25 or Nov 8- Monday at TCU
Saturday, November 13- Texas A&M- Corpus Christi
Island Day is Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s official campus preview event designed especially for prospective undergraduate students and their families. At Island Day, you will discover the Island University and the many opportunities we can offer you!
Saturday, November 20- Texas State University
Let us show you what makes Texas State so special! At Bobcat Day, you’ll explore our beautiful campus, as well as get information about academics, financial aid, housing and more. Our open house gives you opportunities to mingle with faculty, staff and student representatives from across campus for an inside look on what being a Bobcat is all about.
